A 30 inch galvanised open trough for poultry feed. The length is the point — several birds can eat side by side, which takes the heat out of feed time in a flock with a strong pecking order. Short feeders are where bullying shows up.
An open trough is the easiest thing to fill and the easiest to foul. Birds will stand in it if you let them, so a spinner bar or a raised position helps. If waste is the main problem, a hanging hopper keeps more grain off the ground.
Care
Tip out and brush clean regularly. Keep it out of the rain — wet grain in a trough goes mouldy quickly.
