EO-3 is a marine-source omega-3 oil supplying long-chain EPA and DHA directly, rather than the shorter-chain ALA found in flaxseed and vegetable oils, which horses convert only poorly. It is used where an anti-inflammatory effect is wanted — joints, airways, skin. It is an oil, so it adds calories and it does have a fish note; introduce it gradually with fussy horses.
