The pets that benefit are older ones with stiff necks or sore shoulders, and any animal that has trouble reaching down comfortably. A healthy young dog eating off a mat on the floor is fine as it is — this is a comfort product, not an upgrade everyone needs.
Fits the classic square mats. For the fish-shaped Casper and Felix cat mats, use the Casper & Felix riser instead.
