Freeze-dried capsicum pieces for rabbits and guinea pigs. Capsicum is one of the better everyday vegetables for guinea pigs because it carries vitamin C and no oxalate load, and freeze drying keeps the pieces large enough to thread onto a skewer or push into a foraging toy. The pieces can also be rehydrated in a little warm water if your pet prefers them soft.
Benefits
- Vitamin C and A — capsicum is a useful source of both, and guinea pigs cannot make vitamin C
- Large pieces — big enough for skewers and foraging toys, not just scattering
- Fibre — supports the constant chewing a small herbivore needs
Ingredients
100% freeze-dried capsicum.
Feeding Guide
Freeze drying removes the water but not the sugar, so a piece weighs far less than the fresh vegetable it came from and tastes more concentrated. Little Cheeks recommends starting small to check tolerance and limiting to one or two pieces a day. Keep fresh water available, and store the bag sealed in a cool, dry place.
