Three whole dried papaya stumps — the firm stem end of the fruit — as chew toys for rabbits and guinea pigs. Small herbivore teeth grow continuously and need something abrasive to wear against, and a papaya stump is dense enough to last where a soft treat disappears in seconds. Chews are enrichment, not a dental treatment: an animal already drooling, dropping food or losing weight has a tooth problem a chew will not fix.
Benefits
- Dental wear — dense fibrous material gives constantly growing teeth something to work against
- Papain — papaya carries the enzyme papain, which Little Cheeks positions as digestive support
- Enrichment — a chew that lasts keeps a caged animal occupied
- Three per pack — enough to rotate, or to give one each in a multi-pet enclosure
Ingredients
100% dried papaya stump.
Feeding Guide
Offer one stump at a time and take it away once it is chewed down to a size that could be swallowed whole. Supervise the first session so you know how hard your pet chews. Keep fresh water and unlimited hay available, and store the pack sealed in a cool, dry place.
