A floating breeding trap divided into two upper compartments, each sitting over its own segregated lower chamber. A pregnant livebearer goes in the top; as fry are born they drop through the slots into the bottom compartment, out of reach of the mother. Two compartments means two fish at once — which is the usual situation in a guppy or platy tank.
Specifications — approx. 20.3 × 9.5 × 10.2 cm, sturdy plastic. It floats; no clips or suction cups needed.
Also useful for isolating an injured fish or separating a bully for a few days.
Do not leave a female in it any longer than necessary — a confined livebearer is a stressed one, and stress can stall or abort a drop. Watch for the signs and move her in, not days ahead.
Alternative: the Guppy Breeding Tank 3 in 1, or the floating mesh breeder net for plain isolation.
