The sheep formulation of Marks-Min, with copper included at a low rate rather than left out entirely. Sheep have a much narrower copper tolerance than cattle, and copper accumulates in the liver until it releases all at once — which is why a cattle product given to sheep is a genuine risk rather than a theoretical one.
Supplied in a 1L pack. Where no additional copper at all is wanted, use Marks-Min Copper Free.
Key points
- Formulated for sheep — low copper inclusion
- Trace minerals plus vitamin B12 in one injection
- Schedule 6
- Do not substitute a cattle trace mineral injection in sheep
Exact concentrations, dose rates and withholding periods are printed on the label and the product data sheet.
Use
Trace mineral injections are a targeted correction, not a routine top-up. Confirm a deficiency with blood or liver testing before starting a program, and work to a vet's recommendation on dose and timing. Injectable trace minerals bypass the rumen, so the margin between a therapeutic dose and an excessive one is narrower than with a lick or a premix — selenium in particular.
