NexGard is a monthly chew and each chew is effective for one month. Give the pack that matches your dog's bodyweight - NexGard (Blue) is suitable for small dogs from 4.1 to 10 kg in bodyweight. It can be given with or without food, and it is not affected by bathing, swimming or shampooing.

Safety

• To minimise the risk of tick paralysis, it is also important to perform daily searching and removal of ticks.

What NexGard does not cover

NexGard contains afoxolaner and no milbemycin oxime, so it carries no heartworm claim and no intestinal worm claim. It prevents flea tapeworm infestations through its effect on fleas, which is not the same as treating an existing worm burden. If you want heartworm and intestinal worm cover in the same monthly chew, look at NexGard Spectra, and speak to your vet about what your dog needs.
