Dogs like sticks for two reasons: the shape and the crack when they bite down. Real sticks give you both plus splinters, gut punctures and vet bills. This is the shape and the sound without the wood.
It throws properly, which most stick-substitute toys do not - the balance is right for a flat throw rather than a tumble.
It is not a chew toy. A determined chewer will get through the crinkle layer, and once it stops crackling most dogs lose interest anyway. Keep it as a fetch toy that comes out on walks and goes away afterwards.
