Raw and home-prepared meat diets are usually short of the same things: calcium, several vitamins, and — for cats especially — taurine. Carni-Vite is the powder that closes that gap. If you feed muscle meat and nothing else, this is the difference between a diet that looks adequate and one that is.
The flip side is that it is a corrective, not an addition. Feeding it alongside a complete commercial food or another supplement risks oversupply, which is its own problem.
