Natural white gravel in 5kg and 10kg bags. A pale substrate throws light back up into the tank, which lifts dark-bodied fish and makes green planting read much stronger than it does over brown stone.
Allow about 1kg per 4 litres of tank volume for a 4-5cm bed — roughly 15kg for a 60-litre tank.
Be honest with yourself about maintenance before choosing white. It shows every scrap of waste, and in a tank with algae or tannins from driftwood it will discolour over months. That is a maintenance question, not a defect — if the tank is not vacuumed regularly, multi brown hides a great deal more.
Features
- Two bag sizes — 5kg and 10kg
- Natural white stone — uncoated, no dye to flake off
- Reflective — brightens the tank and shows off dark fish
- Inert — no effect on hardness or pH
Care
Rinse until the water runs clear before use. Vacuum at every water change — white gravel rewards the effort and punishes neglect faster than any other colour.
Also in multi brown and multi mix 4-6mm. More in our Fish Supplies range.
