It only does its job alongside the work — the formulation supports muscle protein synthesis in response to exercise, so a dog that is not training will get nothing out of it.

Feeding Guide
Building phase: feed continuously for one to one and a half weeks. Maintenance: feed for three days before and three days after each race. Mix through the meal at the rate shown on the pack.
