Symbiol Daily Gut Balance is a daily powder for dogs from Vetz Petz, the same company behind Antinol, stocked at PeekAPaw in 150g and 300g pouches. It is a four-part formula rather than a plain probiotic: the probiotic Bacillus subtilis at 2 billion CFU per 5g scoop, New Zealand black beech honeydew honey as the prebiotic, DigestiPet enzymes to help break down protein, fat and carbohydrate, and L-glutamine, betaine and L-threonine for the gut lining. The brand sells it as a non-therapeutic dietary supplement — it is for day-to-day maintenance, not a treatment, and a dog with ongoing or severe digestive signs needs a vet rather than a powder.
Daily amount (1 scoop = 5g, sprinkled over food once daily)
- 0–10kg — 2.5g (½ scoop)
- 10–25kg — 5g (1 scoop)
- 25–40kg — 7.5g (1½ scoops)
- 40kg and over — 10g (2 scoops)
A 150g pouch is about 30 scoops, so roughly a month for a 10–25kg dog; the 300g lasts twice as long. Sensitive dogs are better introduced over several days.
