A kaolin-based leg clay for the evening after fast work. It is applied thickly and left on, so a 1.5kg tub disappears quickly if you are doing all four legs on a horse in full work — most stables that use it regularly buy the 5kg or 11.35kg. Sold internationally under the Staysound name.
Available in 1.5kg, 5kg and 11.35kg. Safe over minor cuts and abrasions, and can be used right up to race day, though not at the racecourse itself.
Benefits
- Cooling action — draws heat out of knees, fetlocks, shins and tendons.
- Tightening — the traditional reason clay is used after a gallop.
- Washes off — rinses away with water, no solvents needed.
Ingredients
Kaolin, sodium borate, glycerine, thyme oil, purified water.
Directions for Use
- Apply directly to the leg after training, spread evenly about 6mm thick.
- For a longer effect, cover with moistened brown paper and bandage.
- Repeat after 24 hours if required. Rinse off with water.
- External use only.
