Expel is the yellow tube in the Value Plus worming line — a two-active broad spectrum paste combining abamectin, a macrocyclic lactone, with morantel tartrate, a tetrahydropyrimidine. One 32.5g syringe treats a 600kg horse.
The two-active combination is what buys the coverage: strongyles, ascarids, pinworms, hairworms, bots and tapeworm, plus the cutaneous larvae of Habronema and Draschia that cause summer sores. That is a broader spread than the single-active Equinox orange tube, which does not cover tapeworm or bots.
Suitable for foals, yearlings, breeding stallions and pregnant mares. As with any wormer, rotate chemical groups across the year rather than using the same active every time, and use a faecal egg count to decide when a drench is actually needed.
