Vet's Best Waterless Small Animal Bath is a no-rinse foam for rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and other small pets. For most of these species that is not a convenience, it is a safety issue: rabbits and guinea pigs can go into shock from a full water bath, and a wet dense undercoat takes a long time to dry, which risks chilling. A foam you work in and towel off avoids both problems.
Supplied as a bottle of ready-to-use foam. Use it for spot cleaning — a soiled back end, a sticky patch, a rabbit that cannot reach to groom itself. Note that a small pet with a permanently dirty rear is usually unwell, overweight or arthritic; clean it up, then find out why. Fly strike is a real risk in Australian summers and a soiled rabbit needs checking daily.
Benefits
- No water, no chill — avoids the wet-coat risk that makes bathing small pets dangerous.
- No rinsing — foam in, towel off, done in a minute, which matters for an animal that stresses easily.
- Spot cleaning — use it on one area rather than the whole animal.
- Gentle formula — intended for frequent light use rather than an occasional deep clean.
How to Use
Dispense the foam onto your hands or a cloth and massage it into the soiled area, then towel dry thoroughly. No rinsing. Keep it away from the eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Handle small pets on a low surface — a struggling rabbit dropped from height can break its back.
