Hydrate is the variant for a coat that has gone dry, brittle or dull — typically after a long summer, a lot of swimming, or a run of too-frequent washing.
If the coat is dry because the animal is being washed too often, the fix is fewer baths rather than a different shampoo. A dry coat with flaking skin underneath is worth a vet check.

Use
Wet the coat, work in, rinse until the water runs clear. Keep out of eyes and ears.
