FeedRite is an Australian-owned and Australian-made stockfeed range built around one job per bag rather than one feed for everything. The horse line runs from Leisure Mix and MainTain Mix for paddock and light work, through PreTrainer and BreedRite, up to Trackline, Performance and Prep & Show for horses in real work. The calf line covers Calf Starter Muesli for the first weeks on hard feed and Calf Rearer Mix once they are eating well.
How to choose — pick the bag by workload, not by price. A horse in a paddock on decent pasture is over-fed on Performance Mix and under-fed on nothing; MainTain or Leisure is the honest answer for most of them. Move up the range only when the work goes up. Everything here is a 20kg bag except Micronised Lupins at 18kg, so it is a bulk purchase — if you have one pony, a smaller bag from another brand may waste less.
All FeedRite feeds are formulated to be fed with roughage. They are not a hay replacement and a horse still needs chaff, hay or pasture in front of it. Feeding rates and the full analysis are printed on the bag; check them before you change a ration.
