Feliway Friends for multi-cat homes
Feliway Friends is the multi-cat version of the range. Where standard Feliway copies the facial pheromone a cat uses to mark its own territory, Friends uses a different pheromone directed at cats living together, and it is the one to reach for when the friction is between your cats rather than between a cat and the house. The situations it is made for are the obvious ones: introducing a new cat or kitten, an adoption settling in, and fighting, chasing, blocking or staring between cats that already live with each other.
Two products cover it. The Feliway Friends Diffuser & Refill pack has the electric plug-in unit plus one 48ml vial, and is where to start if you do not own a diffuser. The Feliway Friends Refill is the vial on its own, for when the first one runs out. The mistake worth avoiding is ordering a standard Feliway Refill by accident: the two vials look alike, they carry different pheromones, and they are not interchangeable. Check which unit you are refilling before you order.
Set expectations on placement and cadence. Each vial covers an area up to 70m² and runs for roughly a month, so a house where cats are spread across two floors realistically needs two units rather than one working harder. Plug it into the room the cats actually share, leave it switched on continuously, and keep it away from shelves, doors, curtains and furniture so the pheromone can circulate.
A diffuser supports the environment rather than replacing it. In a multi-cat home, separate litter trays, separate feeding stations and enough vertical space and scratching outlets do the structural work alongside it.
