Hill's Science Diet Perfect Weight is the brand's everyday weight management range, and at thirteen recipes it is the deepest single line Hill's Science Diet builds. Cats and dogs are both covered, in dry and wet, so one nutritional approach can run across a multi-pet household.

Start with species and format. For dogs the dry range splits by body size: a standard adult recipe, Small & Mini and Small Bites for little mouths, and a Large Breed kibble. Two Perfect Weight & Joint Support recipes sit alongside them, pairing the weight formula with joint support — a sensible pick for an older or heavier-framed dog that has slowed down on walks. On the wet side there is a canned chicken and vegetable recipe and a Small & Mini turkey mousse, both useful for fussy eaters or spooned over kibble as a topper.

For cats there is an adult dry recipe, chicken and salmon pouches, a salmon and vegetable can, and a variety pack. Cats tend to be pickier than dogs about a weight formula, so the variety pack is the low-risk way to find an acceptable flavour before committing to a full carton.
