The stews are the visible-chunks option. Savory Stew and Healthy Cuisine both give you identifiable pieces of meat and vegetable in gravy — there are four Savory Stew recipes here (adult and puppy, beef or chicken, plus a 7+ Senior) and three Healthy Cuisine stews, including a braised beef with carrots and peas. The barley entrees are the smoother, more traditional canned texture: Beef & Barley and Chicken & Barley, in adult, puppy and 7+ versions.

The mousse line is the one most people do not know exists. Small & Mini Dog Mousse comes in 200g x 12 and is a soft, even texture rather than chunks, and Hill's specifies it for adult dogs up to 10 kg when full grown. That softness also makes it a practical option for an ageing dog whose teeth are past their best, or one that has had dental work. There are five mousse recipes in stock, including Perfect Weight and Sensitive Stomach & Skin versions, so a small dog on a weight-management plan does not have to drop down to a single flavour.

Hill's says its wet food can be fed on its own as a complete meal or mixed through dry food for variety, so you are not locked into one or the other. If you are using it as a topper over kibble, count the wet portion inside the daily ration rather than adding it on top — that is the usual reason a dog on wet-and-dry starts putting on condition.
