Meals for Mutts Kangaroo Dog & Cat Food

Kangaroo is the protein MfM leans on hardest, and for a specific reason: almost no Australian pet has eaten it before, which makes it a genuine novel protein when you are trying to work out what a dog or cat is reacting to. It is also the leanest red meat in the range, so it suits animals carrying extra weight.

The products here split two ways. The Single Meat Protein bags, one for dogs and one for cats, contain kangaroo and no other animal protein. Those are the ones to use for an elimination trial, because a second meat defeats the purpose.

The paired recipes are Kangaroo & Lamb for dogs and Kangaroo & Turkey for cats. Both are good everyday diets, but neither will tell you anything diagnostic, and the lamb and turkey are themselves common enough to be a suspect.

One practical note on sizes: the dog single-protein bag comes in 2.5kg and 14kg, while Kangaroo & Lamb runs 2.5kg, 9kg and 20kg. The cat single-protein recipe is 2.5kg only. If you are feeding a large dog and want the biggest bag, the paired recipe is your only kangaroo option.
