Natural Animal Solutions supplements for cats and dogs
Natural Animal Solutions is an Australian naturopathic pet brand, and PeekAPaw stocks the range across joint and mobility, digestion and gut health, calming, skin and coat, eye, ear and dental care, omega oils and everyday nutrition. Almost everything here is formulated for both cats and dogs, with a few products made specifically for cats in smaller, feline-portioned jars.
The most common mistake is buying on size rather than on how the product keeps. The Gut Balance probiotics need refrigerating once opened and using within 60 days, so a 150g jar is only good value if you have a large dog or several pets — for one cat, the 80g Cat Gut Balance is the sensible buy. The same logic applies to the omega oils: oil oxidises after opening, so the 5L drum suits a horse or a household of large dogs, not a single animal.
If you are choosing between the two omega oils, the difference is the source. Salmon Omega Oil is Tasmanian fish oil and supplies EPA and DHA directly. Omega Oil 3, 6 & 9 is built on flaxseed, cod liver and sunflower oils, which is a broader ratio across all three omega families. Cats and dogs convert plant-derived ALA into EPA and DHA inefficiently, so if long-chain omega-3 is what you are after, the salmon oil is the more direct route.
In the joint range there are three formats and one that matters clinically: Joint & Ligament powder and Jointpro Advanced capsules both suit most pets, but OsteoForte is the shellfish-free option. If your pet reacts to crustacean-derived glucosamine or Green Lipped Mussel, that is the one to reach for. Format is otherwise a practical choice — powders mix into wet food, capsules travel better and give exact dosing to dogs that detect powder.
Two expectation-setters worth knowing before you buy. The Dental Powder works on plaque before it hardens; it will not lift tartar that has already set, so use it after a veterinary dental rather than instead of one. And High Potency Vitamin C is not an everyday supplement for most pets — dogs and cats make their own, and it is mainly there for guinea pigs and small animals that cannot.
