Bulk Feed-Grade Minerals and Stockfeed Ingredients
Stockfeed Essentials is our label for unbranded, feed-grade raw ingredients sold in bulk bags — the same minerals and additives that go into commercial premixes, without the premix. Copper sulphate, di-calcium phosphate, magnesium oxide, magnesium chloride flakes, sodium bicarbonate, epsom salts, bentonite and full fat soybean meal, all in 20kg or 25kg sacks.
Who this is for — people mixing their own rations who already know the inclusion rate they want. These are single ingredients, not finished supplements: there is no feeding rate on a 25kg sack of copper sulphate because it depends entirely on what else is in the ration. If you are feeding one or two horses and want something ready to use, the smaller pre-packed sizes in the Gen Pack range or a finished block from Farm Balance will suit you better and waste less.
Get the rate right. Several of these have a narrow margin between useful and harmful — copper in particular is toxic to sheep at levels that are fine for cattle. Work from a nutritionist’s or vet’s recommendation, or from a published ration, and weigh rather than scoop.
