Gen Pack is the house brand of Eastern Distributors, the Australian wholesaler behind Vetsense. It is a plain-packaging range of single-ingredient stable and paddock supplies - epsom salts, dolomite, seaweed meal, brewers yeast, feed oils, iodine, neatsfoot oil - sold in the sizes a working feed room actually uses rather than in a branded 500g tub.
What you are buying
These are straight ingredients, not formulated supplements. There is no proprietary blend and no marketing premium, which is exactly why they are cheap. It also means the responsibility for getting the rate right sits with you: a single mineral added to a ration you have not assessed can shift the balance the wrong way. If you want something that has been formulated and balanced for you, buy a compounded product instead.
Choosing a pack size. Most lines run 1kg through 5kg, and the oils run 1L, 5L and 20L. The 20L drums are genuine bulk packs for multi-horse properties - for a single horse the smaller pack will be finished before it deteriorates, which matters most with the oils. Cod liver oil and linseed oil both oxidise once opened.
Read the cautions on the individual products. Several lines in this range are raw agricultural chemicals rather than animal products - copper sulphate is a footbath chemical that is toxic to sheep at cattle rates, paraffin oil must never be drenched without veterinary supervision, and sulphur carries no approved feeding rate. Each product page says which is which.
