TuffRock is an Australian company that builds its entire range around one raw material: ancient volcanic tuff quarried in New South Wales. The rock is processed into a bioavailable mineral complex and then formulated for different species, so the same core chemistry turns up in a horse's feed bucket, a dog's dinner and a poultry ration.
How the range splits up — the liquids (G.I., Conditioner Plus, Foal Plus, Calf G.I.) are daily feed additives poured over hard feed. The powders (EJF, Super-Tuff) are scooped into feed for joint and all-round support. Poultice is the only topical product in the range.
Choosing a size — the liquids step 500ml, 1L, 4L, 10L and the cost per litre falls sharply with size, so a single horse on a maintenance dose is usually best served by the 1L, while a team or a stud will save on the 4L or 10L. The 10L drums are heavy freight; if you only have one or two horses the smaller pack is normally the better buy even at a higher unit price.
Note that TuffRock supplements are nutritional feed additives, not medicines. They do not replace veterinary treatment for lameness, colic or scouring.
