A hen laying five or six eggs a week is shifting a serious amount of calcium out of her body, and thin or soft shells are usually the first visible sign that the minerals are not keeping up. Poultry Minerals is a liquid concentrate for the drinking water carrying macro minerals for bone and shell formation plus the trace elements — zinc, manganese, copper — that act as cofactors in antioxidant enzymes. It is also an electrolyte source, which is why the brand suggests dosing more often through a hot spell. Worth noting the brand's own warning: do not exceed the rate, because excess minerals can do harm.

Directions for Use
Mix 10ml of concentrate per 10 litres of fresh drinking water, stir through and offer immediately. The same rate applies to chicks 0–8 weeks, growers 8–16 weeks, adults 16 weeks and over, laying hens and breeding birds; in hot weather increase the frequency for electrolyte replacement. Make up only what the flock will drink in a day, replace daily, and keep plain fresh water available alongside it.
Safety
For poultry use only, as a supplement alongside a regular balanced diet. Do not exceed the recommended dose — excessive minerals can be harmful. Avoid direct contact with the concentrate and wash hands after handling. Keep out of reach of children and store away from human food and drink. Animal Wellbeing's label says to observe withdrawal periods for birds destined for consumption but does not publish a specific period — check the bottle.
