A printed, snap-fastening Elizabethan collar for dogs. The two smallest sizes (7.5cm and 10cm) carry a hearts and paw print design; 12.5cm and up carry dog bones and paw prints. Like every cone, it is there to keep a dog's mouth away from stitches, wounds and dressings while they heal.
Seven sizes from 7.5cm to 30cm. For an unprinted clear cone see the Apex Snap Clear E-Collar. Part of the Apex range.
Key points
- Seven sizes — 7.5cm to 30cm.
- Snap fasteners — Quick to fit and remove.
- Printed design — Hearts and paws (small sizes) or bones and paws (larger sizes).
Sizing
The size is the depth of the cone from the neck edge to the outer rim. Measure from the base of the neck to just past the tip of the nose: the cone should reach slightly beyond the nose so the pet cannot reach the wound. The neck opening is adjusted and fastened around the pet's own collar or with the fastening provided — you should be able to slip two fingers underneath.
Most pets need a day to learn to eat, drink and move through doorways in a cone. Raise food and water bowls if needed, and do not leave the collar off unsupervised while the wound is healing.
