Pick the version that matches your tank
API sells the glass and acrylic pads as separate products for a reason. The glass pad is stated to be exclusively for glass aquariums — not acrylic, Plexiglas or any other surface — because acrylic scratches at a fraction of the pressure glass tolerates. When in doubt, use the acrylic version.
Using it
- Wet surfaces only
- Rinse under the tap before and after each use
- Wash off any gravel the pad picks up before continuing
- Firm, even pressure rather than hard scrubbing
For deep tanks, the long-handled algae scraper saves wet sleeves. To slow algae down in the first place, Algaefix — not for tanks with shrimp or crabs.
