Low voltage means a transformer, and the transformer is not waterproof. The lamp head can go in the water; the transformer has to live somewhere dry and protected. Plan where that will be before you buy, because the cable run between the two is fixed.
Choosing a wattage. Pick by how far the light has to throw and how much water is above it, not by pond volume. Water absorbs light quickly, so a deep feature needs more than the same-sized shallow one.
Installation
Anything mains-powered around water should be on an RCD and, if you are at all unsure, installed by a licensed electrician. Keep a drip loop in every cable.
