Millet spray is seed left on the stem, so the bird has to strip it rather than scoop it out of a dish. That is most of the point - it is foraging enrichment as much as food. It is also energy dense, which is the honest limitation: it belongs alongside a balanced seed or pellet diet, not in place of one, and it is easy to overdo with a caged budgie that has little else to occupy it.
The 50g pack suits one or two small birds; 200g is an aviary pack. See the rest of our bird food range.
Feeding
- Clip a spray to the cage bars, or lay it on the floor of an aviary so several birds can share.
- Offer a few centimetres at a time to a single small bird and take back what is not eaten within a day or two.
- Store cool and dry, and check for moth activity through summer.
