A hand-held clicker for marker training, with a patented volume control that steps the click through three settings. The quietest setting suits a sound-sensitive or very young dog; the loudest carries across a paddock or a busy training hall. A clicker only earns its keep once you have conditioned the sound to mean a reward is coming — on its own it is just a noise, so plan on a few short charging sessions before you start marking behaviour.
The raised thumb piece means you can click without looking down at your hand, and the adjustable reflective wrist strap fits a child as well as an adult. Part of the Coachi training range, alongside the WhizzClick and the Target Stick.
Features
- Three volume settings — patented control that softens the click for sound-sensitive dogs or lifts it for a noisy environment
- Raised thumb piece — easy to find and press without breaking eye contact with your dog
- Adjustable wrist strap — reflective, and sized to fit children as well as adults
- Consistent sound — the same mark every time, which is what makes marker training work
How to Use
- Charge the clicker first: click, then immediately deliver a treat, ten to fifteen times over, until your dog turns to you at the sound.
- From then on click at the exact moment the behaviour happens — sit, down, stay or a trick — and follow every click with a reward.
- Start on the lowest volume with a puppy or a sensitive dog and step it up only if the dog is clearly unbothered.
- Click once. Repeated clicking blurs the mark and slows learning down.
