Compressed sphagnum moss that expands with water into a soft, very absorbent layer. Its main jobs in a reptile room are lining a humid hide so an animal sheds cleanly, holding humidity in a bioactive or planted terrarium, and acting as an incubation medium for eggs. It is gentle enough for burrowers and species with sensitive skin.
