Compressed pine pellets for stable bedding, in a 15kg bag. Damped down before use, the pellets expand into a deep sawdust bed; in use, wet patches crumble and can be lifted out while the surrounding bed stays intact. Compared with shavings or straw it takes up far less storage room per stable and produces a smaller muck heap.
Two things to know before you switch a yard over. Pellets need to be damped and left to expand before the horse goes in — bedding straight from the bag is hard underfoot and dusty. And a pellet bed is deliberately shallow and firm rather than deep and springy; horses that lie down a lot, and mares foaling down, are usually better on a deep shavings or straw bed.
Supplied as a 15kg bag, which ships as heavy freight — order it with the rest of your yard supplies where you can. The same pellet is sold as Elite Pelletised Pine Cat Litter. Browse all Horse Supplies or the Elite range.
