The Automatic Turtle Feeder drops a measured portion of pellets into an aquatic turtle set-up on a timer — up to four feeds a day, with the portion size adjustable for the number and size of animals you keep. The 200ml chamber holds enough for a long run and the clear cap lets you check the level without opening it, which is what makes it worth having over a weekend away or a busy fortnight. The limitation is the one that matters most: it is not a substitute for looking at your animals. It cannot tell you that a turtle has stopped eating, that the water has gone cloudy, or that pellets are sitting uneaten and breaking down into ammonia. Treat it as a scheduling tool that keeps feeding consistent, not as cover for being away long term.
It takes most round and stick pellets, including Exo Terra Turtle Food Adult Floating Pellets, and mounts on Exo Terra turtle terrariums. Very large, irregular or crumbly food will bridge in the chamber rather than dispense cleanly — check the first few cycles by eye before you rely on it. Pair it with a Turtle Bank for basking and the Turtle Habitat Cleaning Kit for water changes. The rest of the range is in our Exo Terra collection.
Features
- Programmable up to four feeds a day — matches a hatchling's frequent small meals or an adult's less frequent ones.
- Adjustable portion size — the amount released per cycle is set on the unit, so the same feeder suits one juvenile or a group.
- 200ml pellet chamber — a large reservoir relative to the portions dispensed, so it needs refilling rarely.
- Clear monitoring cap — the remaining pellet level is visible without opening the chamber and letting damp air in.
- Reduces overfeeding — fixed portions on a fixed schedule is the practical fix for uneaten pellets fouling the water.
- Battery powered — runs on two AA cells, so it keeps its schedule through a power interruption.
