The Bamboo Forest kit is Exo Terra's take on a Madagascan bamboo grove: a tall glass terrarium with a bamboo background and a moulded bamboo ornament that doubles as a hide, a water dish and a food cup holder. It is aimed at arboreal geckos and tree frogs that want vertical surfaces to cling to. Like the other Exo Terra kits it is a housing and décor package rather than a lighting package — the Compact Top fixture is included but the bulbs are not, and there is no heat source in the box.
Two sizes, 30 x 30 x 45cm and 45 x 45 x 60cm, built on the Natural Terrarium Mini Tall and Small Tall respectively. Add a UVB100 compact bulb for tropical species, and compare it with the Rainforest Habitat Kit, which swaps the moss mat and bamboo for soil, plants and a rock background. Features
- Vertical proportions — both sizes are taller than they are deep, giving climbing species usable height rather than floor area.
- Combined ornament — hide, water and food station in one piece, so a small floor area is not swallowed by three separate items.
- Moss mat substrate — a washable mat instead of loose substrate; simpler to keep clean and nothing loose for an animal to swallow at feeding time.
