The Finger Cactus is the multi-stemmed upright in Exo Terra's desert range, 20cm tall, and it works as a visual screen rather than as ground cover — the sort of piece you put between a basking spot and a hide so an animal can move between the two without being in full view the whole way. As a replica it needs nothing: no light, no water, no root depth. As a replica it also does nothing for the enclosure's humidity or air, and it will not grow into the space. That trade favours the replica in exactly the spots where a live plant would be trampled, dug out or cooked under a lamp.
