The middle diet in Exo Terra's three-stage aquatic turtle range: a floating pellet for young red-eared sliders, map turtles, wood turtles and similar semi-aquatic species that are past the hatchling stage but still growing. At 35% minimum protein it sits between the 43% hatchling formula and the 25% adult formula. Keep a mature turtle on it and you are feeding more protein than it needs; move a tiny hatchling onto it and both the pellet size and the protein level are wrong for that stage.

Four sizes: 43g, 90g, 265g and 560g (Exo Terra items PT3247, PT3248, PT3249 and PT3250). Match the diet to the age of the animal — Hatchling Floating Pellets for the first stage, this one through the growth years, then Adult Floating Pellets. The rest of the turtle range is in our Reptile Food collection and our Exo Terra collection.

Feeding Guide

Feed as much as the turtles can eat in five minutes, twice daily. Net out any uneaten pellets after an hour — leftovers foul the water faster than anything else in a turtle setup. Vary the diet with a canned treat such as Shrimp Turtle Treats, and keep the water in shape with Turtle Clean.
