The Water Well is a dispenser rather than a bowl. A screened reservoir holds the bulk of the water and gravity tops up a small open basin as the level drops, so the animal only ever has access to a shallow drinking surface. The screen keeps crickets, substrate and the animal itself out of the reservoir, which is the real benefit — the water stays drinkable for longer, and a monitor or a bearded dragon cannot dump the whole lot into the substrate in one go. Two things to know: it feeds by gravity, so it needs to sit flat and level on firm substrate rather than perched on loose bark, and a sealed reservoir hides what is growing inside it, so empty and rinse it on the same schedule you would use for an open dish.
