The Water Dish is Exo Terra's general-purpose terrarium bowl — a wide, shallow, rock-finish dish that sits on the substrate and suits most lizards, small snakes and terrestrial invertebrates. Shallow is the point, and also the limitation: it is not the dish for a snake that wants to soak, or for an amphibian that needs to sit in water. The moulded safety steps let small animals climb out, but a very young hatchling or froglet is still safer with the Small than with a Large full of water.
Four sizes: Small 5.5 x 6.5 x 3cm, Medium 10 x 13 x 3.3cm, Large 22 x 17.8 x 5.5cm and X-Large 23.5 x 28.5 x 7cm. If floor space is tight, the Corner Water Dish holds a comparable volume in a triangle that tucks against two walls; a snake that soaks wants the deeper Pebble Snake Water Dish, and amphibians are better served by the sunken Frog Pond. The matching Feeding Dish and the rest of the range are in our Exo Terra collection.
Features
- Non-porous food-grade resin — the inside is smooth and non-pitted, so it does not hold bacteria in the texture and wipes clean.
- Built-in safety steps — a graded internal lip gives small reptiles, amphibians and insects a way back out instead of a drowning risk.
- Low, wide footing — heavy and flat enough that a larger lizard walking through it is unlikely to tip it over.
- Neutral rock finish — the colour and texture read as natural in a desert or a tropical build, so the dish does not need hiding behind decor.
- Easy to disinfect — no interior texture to trap waste, shed skin or algae.
