This is the deep one in the range. Exo Terra sells it on its own site as the Snake Bowl (PT2815) — same product, different name — and the design brief is simple: enough depth and diameter that a snake can coil up inside and submerge completely. Soaking is what a snake does in the days before a shed, and a bowl it cannot get into is the usual reason a stuck shed happens in an otherwise well-run enclosure. Being deep also makes it the wrong choice for hatchling amphibians or small invertebrates, which want the shallow Water Dish or a Frog Pond.
One size, in the same pebble rock finish as the rest of the range, with the moulded safety steps carried over so anything that falls in can still climb out. Exo Terra does not publish dimensions or a fill capacity for the Snake Bowl; the shipping weight is 460g, which puts it between the Large and X-Large Water Dish. The full range is in our Exo Terra collection.
Features
- Extra depth — sized for a snake to curl into and fully submerge, which is the point of a soaking bowl.
- Heavy, low profile — a coiled snake shifting its weight will not walk it across the enclosure or slop water into the substrate.
- Built-in safety steps — smaller animals and feeder insects have a way out of the deep water.
- Non-porous food-grade resin — smooth interior that cleans off shed skin and biofilm without scrubbing.
- Pebble rock finish — neutral colouring that suits a desert or a tropical build.
Specifications
PT2815. Exo Terra publishes no dimensions or capacity for this item; shipping weight is 460g. Refill with dechlorinated water and change it whenever it is fouled — a snake that soaks will often defecate in the bowl.
