Ammo-Rid is Fluval's zeolite ammonia remover for the two largest AquaClear hang-on filters. It earns its place in a newly set-up tank or a heavily stocked one, where ammonia can climb faster than the biological filter can catch up. Two limits worth knowing before you buy: Fluval lists it for freshwater only, and it is spent after about four weeks, so it is a short-term rescue rather than a permanent part of the media stack.
The sizes here use the older AquaClear numbering — 300 is the AC70 and 500 is the AC110 — and the insert drops straight into the media basket of the Fluval AquaClear Hang On Filter.
