GREENIES Pill Pockets are soft treats moulded with a hollow pocket. A tablet or capsule goes inside, the top is pinched closed, and the dog takes it as a treat rather than as medication. For dogs that spit tablets out of cheese or peanut butter, the pocket works because the medicine never touches the dog's tongue.
This is the smoky ham flavour in a 300g pack. Also available in Peanut Butter — worth having both, because dogs learn to avoid a flavour once they associate it with medicine. More from GREENIES and other Dog Treats.
Features
- Built-in pocket — holds a tablet or capsule and pinches closed over it.
- Masks smell and taste — the medication never contacts the tongue.
- Soft texture — swallowed whole rather than chewed, so the pill stays hidden.
- Rotate flavours — pair with Peanut Butter so the dog does not learn one flavour.
How to use
Drop the tablet in, pinch the opening closed and give straight away. Offering an empty pocket first, then the loaded one, then another empty one, stops the dog inspecting each treat. Check with your vet before hiding any medication in food, as a few must be given on an empty stomach.
