bioPad is the white polyester pad that sits at the very top of the upper Bioflow insert. It catches coarse dirt on its way in, which is what stops the sponges and chemical media underneath from clogging. Every Bioflow runs one, and it is the first thing to check when flow drops.
It is a genuine consumable. Juwel says replace it weekly, which makes it by far the highest running cost in the filter — and washing it out to stretch the interval defeats the point, since a partly loaded pad is exactly what pushes dirt further down the stack.
Where it goes
Top of the upper filter insert, above the bioCarb sponge. Made from fine, residue-free polyester.

- Large — Bioflow L: Rio 350 LED, Vision 260 LED

Sold in packs of five. Older packaging calls the Medium size Compact or Bioflow 3.0.
