The end caps are the fitting rings that seal each end of a Juwel light unit and keep it watertight. Juwel's own recommendation is to replace them every time you change a tube — they are rubber, they take heat and condensation, and they are the part that quietly stops sealing.
Reusing tired caps is the usual cause of water getting into a light unit. A new tube in old caps is a false economy: once water is inside the unit, the tube is the cheap part of the repair.
Choosing a size — measure the tube, not the tank
- 16mm — T5 tubes
- 26mm — T8 tubes
Ordering by aquarium model is the common mistake here, because the same tank could be built with either. Put a ruler across the old tube: 16 mm is T5, 26 mm is T8.
Specifications
- Two caps per pack
- VDE certified
Note that Juwel now lists only the T5 size on its own site — the 26mm T8 cap is winding down with the T8 tube range.
The rest of the range is in our Juwel collection.
