A slip lead is a lead and a collar in one: the rope passes through a ring and tightens when the dog pulls, then releases when it stops. That makes it quick to get on and off, which is why groomers, vets and rescue kennels use them. It is a control tool, not an all-day collar — leave it on an unattended dog and the loop can tighten on its own. Set the stopper so the loop cannot close past your dog's neck.
Sizes
- Medium — 1.5m long, 10mm rope
- Large — 1.5m long, 15mm rope
- Colours — black and red in both sizes
Features
- Safety stopper — a slider that limits how far the loop can close
- No separate collar needed — useful for a dog that slips a normal collar
- Padded handle — neoprene lined
- Reflective threads — woven through the rope
- Non-tangle braided nylon
For everyday walking, the standard rope lead is the better choice. See the rest of the KONG range.
Care and safety
Hand wash and air dry. Do not leave a slip lead on an unsupervised dog, do not tie a dog up with one, and set the stopper before the first walk. Check the rope and stitching for wear regularly.
