A plain salt lick with nothing added — salt in a 20kg pressed block. Stock have a genuine appetite for sodium and will seek out a salt lick even when nothing else is short, which makes plain salt the simplest and cheapest lick to keep in a paddock.
What it does not do is supply minerals. If your stock need magnesium, phosphorus, copper or selenium, a plain salt block will not deliver any of them — use one of the Olssons mineral blocks for that. Salt is also the intake regulator in many medicated and mineral products, so do not offer plain salt free choice alongside a block whose intake you are trying to control.
Feeding & Use
Place where stock camp or water, under cover where possible. Always provide clean, fresh water — salt intake increases water demand.
