Fat N Up is the conditioning feed in the Perrys range — the bag to reach for when a horse needs to put weight and cover on rather than energy for work. Poor doers, horses coming out of a hard season and rescues building back up are the usual candidates.
Before you buy a conditioning feed, rule out the cheap explanations: teeth, worm burden and poor-quality hay account for most horses that will not hold weight, and no feed fixes any of them. If the horse has been dropping condition on adequate feed, that is a vet conversation, not a feed one.
Supplied as a 25kg bag — one of the larger bags in the range, so plan the freight.
Feeding
Feed with plenty of roughage and build the rate up over a couple of weeks rather than jumping straight to the target. Feeding rates and the full analysis are printed on the bag.
