The traditional aviary soft food — egg and biscuit, fed dry or lightly moistened, for birds in breeding condition, birds in moult and parents rearing chicks. It has been the standard for finch and canary breeders for decades because it works. The one rule that matters: made-up wet soft food is a bacterial culture medium. Mix small amounts, and pull it out of the cage within a few hours in summer.
