A catheter tip is wide and stepped so it seats inside tubing instead of taking a needle. That makes this the syringe for tube feeding, flushing wounds and irrigating, and for oral dosing of larger volumes — not for injection. If you want a 50mL syringe for drawing up and injecting, choose the eccentric tip version instead.
Supplied as a 50mL syringe, box of 20. For injection work at the same volume see Terumo Eccentric Tip Syringes. Part of the Terumo range.
Key points
- Wide stepped tip — Seats into tubing; does not accept a standard needle hub.
- 50mL — The usual working volume for feeding and flushing.
- Box of 20 — Sold and priced by the box.
Handling
Single use only. Do not re-sheath a used needle. Dispose of used sharps in an approved sharps container — never in household or farm waste. Sale and possession of hypodermic needles and syringes is regulated in some Australian states and territories; buy and use them in line with your local requirements.
